Theme: Amalgam is Out, Bioactivity is In: Giomer/S-PRG Filler and the Future of Restorative Materials
Prof Junji Tagami, Institute of Science Tokyo
Prof. Carlos Rocha Gomes Torres, UNESP, Brazil
Description:
• This symposium will analyze the transition from amalgam to new-generation bioactive restorative materials. It will address the scientific and clinical evidence supporting the use of technologies such as Giomer and S-PRG filler, emphasizing their properties, remineralizing potential, and contribution to the prevention of caries.
S-PRG Filler releases multiple useful ions and is widely reported by scientific evidence to have bioactive properties with the potential to help reduce oral disease risks. The underlying multi-functional, three-layered glass technology enables its stable and wide-ranging adoption in preventive care and dental treatment as manifested by a growing Giomer product family (line-up) across different dental fields.
The presenters will examine their impact on caries prevention, their interaction with dental tissues, and their clinical advantages in terms of oral health. This conference will offer an updated vision of the future of restorative materials and their role in a more preventive and biocompatible dentistry.
